Baking papers, also called bakery paper, include silicon paper, greaseproof paper, parchment paper and wax paper, cake tin liners, discs, rolls and sheets, cupcake cases, muffin cases and baking cases and liners, doyleys and rice paper. Make sure you grease and line your cake tin to prevent the cake from sticking to the side whilst baking, making it difficult to remove from the tin. It makes life much easier when it comes to turning the finished cake out of the tin. Using a pastry brush, brush the base and sides of the cake tins all over with melted butter or oil or you can use a cake release spray. Lining a baking sheet with parchment before baking not only helps release your cookies easily, but it also prevents the bottoms from getting too dark. Win-win
